Our website goes live!

We are happy to announce an important milestone: our website has gone live today! The Braamfontein Spruit Ecological Corridor now has an online home, and we are holding an online launch event later today to introduce this to stakeholders and our broader community.

We are excited to share the results of a number of years of hard work with everybody. Our website is open source and its goal is to make very useful but hard-to-find ecological information more readily available to new and existing gardeners alike. We have developed an online tool called the Garden Planner that is at the heart of the website. It takes any gardener through the process of planning a restoration garden by asking simple questions and it provides in-depth species advice and steers the user towards putting together a diverse and ecologically rich garden based on advice from local ecologists, botanists and landscape architects. We are encouraging people within the corridor area to sign up and to activate their garden. Our 2026 goal is to get 100 gardens started within the Braamfontein Spruit Ecological Corridor.
